Biological enzymes are non-toxic, environmentally friendly biological catalysts, and their chemical essence is proteins. Due to the high efficiency, environmental protection and superiority of biological enzymes, it has been widely used in various fields. At present, synthetic biology has also received strong support from the state, and enzyme catalytic technology has been developed and applied in many biomedical companies.
Biological enzymes are proteins that have a catalytic function. Like other proteins, enzyme molecules are made up of long chains of amino acids. Part of the chain is spiral-shaped, and part of it is a folded sheet structure. These two parts are connected by unfolded amino acid chains, so that the entire enzyme molecule becomes a specific 3D structure.
With the development of PharmaResources, the enzyme chemistry platform has also begun to be included in one of the development directions of PharmaResources' R&D and synthesis. The establishment of the enzyme chemistry platform aims to improve the safety, green and high efficiency of the pharmaceutical manufacturing process, and provide a green and safe production route for the design of synthetic medicines and pharmaceutical intermediates. In 2021, the company has established an enzyme chemistry platform and basic research related to enzyme catalysis. PharmaResources will build good cooperative relations with well-known companies or universities with high-end technologies such as biomolecular cloning in the follow-up, and develop and expand the company's enzyme catalytic platform.
At present, the company is equipped with instruments and equipment related to molecular cloning technology and production of enzymes for the establishment of enzyme chemistry technology platform, such as ultra-clean workbench, high-speed centrifuge, temperature control shaker and other equipment. Since 2021, the company has studied a number of projects through enzyme catalytic technology, of which three projects have been completed from small trial to scale-up, and successfully achieved kilogram-level production.
Traditional chemical catalysis has certain risks (high temperature, high pressure, hydrogenation, etc.), while enzyme catalysis only needs to be solved at room temperature and pressure. In the follow-up, PharmaResources will strengthen the research on enzyme catalysis, hoping to reduce the high-risk operation of chemical synthesis as much as possible and make it safer, greener and more efficient.
